Gay Porn Star Ken Ryker Returns to Videos

BREAKING NEWS * APRIL 18, 1998 * KEN RYKER RETURNS

Saturday, April 18, 1998, West Hollywood, California. Ken Ryker walked into Different Light bookstore tonight to greet author Mickey Skee shortly before the public was due to gather for Skee's public book signing appearance was to get underway at the popular West Hollywood reading rack. Skee's appearance at Different Light had been promoted heavily in the press and one of the books Skee was plugging was his "Films of Ken Ryker" book (Companion Press).

Once the book signing got underway shortly after 8 p.m., Skee announced that, in fact, Ken Ryker, who had retired from the business of making porn, had indeed stopped by the store at approximately 7:20 p.m. and congratulated Skee on the book and Ryker signed 10 copies and then left for a dinner appointment. Skee also announced that Ryker is indeed scheduled to make a come back to video. Although no details were given, Skee said Ryker's new deal will make him the highest paid male porn star in history.

A group of 50 or more people, including porn industry insiders and fans gathered as Skee read stories e-mailed to Skee from industry directors and producers about funny moments which had occured to them while making videos. Also, porn stars, video execs. and behind the scenes technicians got up in front of the crowd and told stories of their own.

In attendance were Sharon Kane, Dino DiMarco, Grant Wood, Seth Black, Derrick Stanton, Jordon Sabel, Dino Phillips and various studio execs., agents, and insiders. Different Light Bookstore reported that Skee's Ryker book has been a consistent seller since it release in December of 97.

Ken Ryker and friends reportedly walked along Santa Monica Blvd., stopping in the many night spots at about midnight after a lenghty dinner meeting. Fans were surprised and pleased to see Ryker and he spent time talking with them.
